I'd always wanted an authentic Black Forest clock but found a lot of the designs too traditional for my taste. I chose this one which had light woods and no figures. It looks even better in person! It would work in any setting - traditional/country/contemporary/modern. It even gets visitors - my kids putting different Lego figures on it.It came well-packaged and insulated, and putting it up was a breeze. It cuckoos the number of hours every hour during the day (it seems to be from 8 am to 6 pm), following by soft classical music. The sound is soft and not disruptive. There's a switch to turn off all sounds or just the music, but we leave it on. It's been a few weeks but we still tend to gather around it if we notice we're near the top of the hour. Our family loves our new clock!And BTW, I had looked around and saw the same model for sale in other sites, I found it was cheapest here on Amazon.
